In this episode of the get clarity podcast, you’re going to hear a conversation I had with two of my dearest friends, colleagues and mentors – these are people who’ve had a profound impact on my work and in my life, so I’m really excited to share them with you. And a few pieces of housekeeping before we start:

First of all, this is the final podcast before we pause for the holidays, so I just want to take a moment to wish you and your loved ones a happy, peaceful and restful time over the next few weeks. I know for a lot of people, this can be quite a challenging time of the year, so it can be worth remembering to take it easy on yourself and the on people you care about. A little kindness goes a long way, so I encourage to start by being kind to yourself. At Clarity HQ, our vision is to inspire and educate a generation to experience lives of clarity, resilience and wellbeing, and we believe the most valuable thing a person can discover is how their mind works, so they can remember who they really are. So in relation to that, we’ve got some very cool brand new stuff planned for 2019, so I’ll be telling you all about that in the weeks and months ahead.

Meanwhile, I’m delighted to announce two things:

Number 1 – We’ve now confirmed dates for the Clarity Coach Training programme that’s happening starting in January 2020, a little over a year from now. We’re going to be doing a formal launch of this in a few months’ time, however… if you already know that you want to be part of the 2020 programme, you can head over to JamieSmart.com/coach to find out all about it, complete an application form or hit the ‘find out more’ button to… find out more, and that’ll also let you book a conversation with a member of my team if you’d rather talk to someone about it. And if you book your place before the end of January, you can get it at the 2018 price, so once again, head over to JamieSmart.com/coach if you already know you want to join us in 2020.

Secondly, the conversation you’re about to hear is with Jan and Chip Chipman, and I’ll introduce them both at the start of that, but one of the things worth knowing is that Jan, Chip and I do a retreat each May in the Canary Islands, and it’s one of the highlights of my year, so if you like the idea of spending a week with a small group of people diving deep into an exploration of your true self, head over to jamiesmart.com/retreat to find out more.

And that brings us to this episode. What you’re about to hear is a conversation I had with Jan and Chip last year as we gave people a taste of what we’re most passionate about sharing with our clients. As I already mentioned, my team and I believe the most valuable thing a person can discover is how their mind works, so they can remember who they really are. And Jan and Chip have been pivotal in waking me up to MY true identity, and helping me to do the same for others, so this episode is going to be one you can listen to again and again. Here you go!

In this episode of the get clarity podcast, you’re going to hear a keynote speech I gave at the Resilient Young Minds conference recently. The conference was attended by Teachers, school leaders, Youth Workers, Charity workers, Coaches, Parents, Business owners and a number of young people who joined us. The conference set out to demonstrate that young people:
- Are not broken
- Do not need to be 'fixed'
- Have resilience, resourcefulness and wellbeing inbuilt

Of course, this doesn't just apply to young people - it applies to all of us. I was joined by many friends and colleagues, and it was really heartening to see how many young people and people who support young people are being moved by this understanding.

My team and I believe the most valuable thing a person can discover is the truth of who they really are, so this conference was a great opportunity for us to take a next step towards our vision: to inspire and educate a generation to experience lives of clarity, resilience and wellbeing.

In the weeks and months ahead, my team and I are going to be announcing new products and programmes that are fully aligned with this vision.

In the meantime, thank-you for sharing this journey with me, and I hope you enjoy this brief talk.

Nov 21, 2018

In this episode of the get clarity podcast, I’m going to be speaking with my friend and colleague, Dr Bill Pettit, so just a couple of things before we get to that.

You may already be aware that my team and I have been clarifying our message about who we are as a company and what we’re doing in the world. This is already having an impact on how we’re spending our time. And one of the things we’ve been looking at is the whole domain of mission, vision and purpose. There’s something my team and I passionately believe to be true, and it’s this:

We believe the most valuable thing a person can discover is the truth of who they really are.

We also know that there’s incredible value in understanding how your mind works, and so that’s going to be an integral part of how we make progress towards our vision, which is this:

To inspire and educate a generation to experience lives of clarity, resilience and wellbeing.

I’m going to be giving you more of the specifics around this as they emerge, but the conversation you’re about to hear is a step towards that vision, because Dr Pettit has seen first hand in many thousands of cases just what a huge impact this understanding can have in a person’s life, you see: Bill’s a board-certified psychiatrist, and he’s shared the principles behind clarity with people who have very severe clinical diagnoses, often with seemingly miraculous results. So much so, that I went out to my tribe before doing this interview, and got people to submit their question for me to discuss with Bill, so we covered topics as diverse as schizophrenia, depression, panic attacks, stress and anxiety, and even psychedelics.

Our conversation ran for nearly two hours, and this is one you may want to listen to more than once because there’s so much in it.

If you want to hear more of these episodes, please head over to iTunes, stitcher or wherever you get your podcasts and hit the SUBSCRIBE button to make sure you never miss an episode. And if you enjoyed this, and if you resonate with our vision to inspire and educate a generation to experience lives of clarity, resilience, and wellbeing, it would really help if you give this podcast a 5-star rating, because it helps like-minded people to find it.

In this episode, you’re going to hear a coaching session that’s going to be particularly relevant to a lot of people in light of this week’s mid-term elections in the USA, because the client, Kathleen, is feeling frightened and anxious about the social, economic and political climate. At one point in the conversation, you’ll hear me ask what may strike you as a strange and bizarre question: Are you open to the possibility that your feelings don’t know who’s president?

As you’ll hear when you listen to the session, Kathleen gets insights into where her experience comes from, and who she really is. This session was taken from a Clarity Community call, and this is a session I do once a month where all my clients, past and present, are invited to a group coaching session. Kathleen’s session was at the start of the community call, so in the final 8 minutes of this episode, I check back in with her. She shares her insights and realisations from the coaching session, and as you’ll hear, things have really shifted.

This weeks episode is an excerpt from module 2 of this year's Clarity Coach Training. The reason I chose this clip is that at this point in the session there was a feeling in the group that was just incredible and what I'm going to suggest is that it was because of the direction we were looking in.

What I am pointing to is something that is beyond the words.

Enjoy!

In this episode we are doing something a little different. This past Sunday (Sep 30th) was international Podcast Day and so to celebrate it we are re-releasing the most popular episode of any of our podcasts.

The original episode went out on the Results Mindset Podcast a year ago and it's a keynote that I did at the unlimited conference in Finland called 'The Search is Over (except when it isn't)... by far our most listened to show.

Enjoy!

In this episode, you’re going to hear an interview I did eight years ago with a good friend and colleague – Sandy Krot.

At the time I was very early in my own journey into exploring the principles behind Clarity and Sandy had been sharing these principles with individuals and with corporate clients for over 30 years.

So as you’re listening to this now it’s getting on for 40 years that Sandy has been sharing these principles with people. A particular interest for Sandy is the whole domain of the corporate world and leadership teams so I think you’re really going to enjoy her perspective on taking these principles into a variety of different environments.

This week’s episode is a re-release of one of the interviews I did to coincide with the release of my Sunday Times best-selling book - Results.

The interview is with Ian Selby - a company director who did a 3 day 1 to 1 coaching intensive with me (and later joined me on Clarity Coach Training).

The reason that Ian was featured in my book Results was because our 1 to 1 intensive gave rise to what I call the Clarity Equation;

Clarity = Capacity - Contamination

An equation for understanding how the principles behind Clarity play out in every aspect of your life.

This episode is sponsored by the certified Clarity Coach Training programme, a 10-month immersion into the principles behind clarity. The programme is formally open for registration and it’s not just for coaches, we’ve had all sorts of people go through the programme including computer programmers, doctors, call centre workers, layers, parents PR specialists, therapists, office workers, entrepreneurs, surgeons, people who are already coaches and consultants and trainers and even a professional footballer and if you’re interested it’s worth knowing that we’re not running the programme next year so the intake that’s starting this September (2018) is the last chance you’ll get to join us until 2020 at the very earliest. So if you want to find out how to become a Clarity Coach and see what’s involved in bringing an understanding of these principles into every aspect of your life go to jamiesmart.com/coach

In this episode you’re going to hear a keynote speech I gave to the employees of two companies, Online Mortgage Advisors and Create Finance. Two of the founders of these companies had already been impacted from exploring the principles behind clarity so they wanted to share it with their teams. Most of the 80 people who attended were unfamiliar with this work, and with the world of ‘personal development’ in general, so it was really great to be able to share it with a group of people hearing it for the first time. People were really impacted, and I’m told that the buzz in the offices afterwards was great so I’m looking forward to following up in a few weeks time.

This episode is a coaching session I did with a client who was struggling with so-called “impostor syndrome”, self-doubt and lack of self-belief. And these are such common issues for people that I thought it would be a really useful one to share with you.

Emma Broome is an elite performance coach, with a background in elite performance herself as an aerial skier. But when she first reached out to me, she told me she was really struggling with impostor syndrome and self-doubt. And she was surprised when I said, “That's a bit of a specialty of mine, so we'll get that handled, probably during the first week of the programme.” I invited her to do a coaching demo with me during a training programme, and the recording you’re about to hear is the result. By the way, 2 weeks ago she posted on Facebook saying, “I had my first enrolment conversation 10 days ago, did my first proposal last week and had it accepted yesterday! I now have my first half day intensive in 10 days time.” So things have really shifted since she and I had this coaching session.

This episode was brought to you by the certified clarity coach training programme, and the 2018 programme is now open for registration, and here’s something you need to know; we’re NOT running the programme next year, so the intake that’s starting this September 2018 is the last chance you’ll get to join us until 2020 at the earliest, so if you want to find out how to become a Certified Clarity Coach, and see what’s involved in bringing an understanding of these principles into every aspect of your life, go to www.jamiesmart.com/coach

In this episode of Get Clarity you will hear a coaching session which was recorded during a Clarity Community call (a monthly call I do for those in my community that have been on one of my programmes).

Doreen is a coach from Belfast who works with people who want to improve their lives and improve their relationship with money. As you’ll hear Doreen has recently finished the Thriving Coaches Blueprint (which had a really big impact on her), but she found herself from time to time, telling herself ‘oh it’s just your thinking’…

You may have heard people say this to you or other people or maybe you’ve even tried saying it to yourself and it just doesn’t help.

This was one of the things Doreen had run up against and so because this is such a common theme I thought it would be great to share this episode. Where I go with this is the last place that most people would expect.

In this episode you’re going to hear an excerpt from a live coaching demo I did for Kimberley Hare’s Heart of Thriving group. The client is Gina, who’s recently been made redundant, and has been enjoying some time for rest and rejuvenation after many years of employment. Gina wants to write a book, and to help other people but as you’ll hear, she’s been struggling to ‘get herself’ to take action and move forward, so that’s what she asks for my help with.

This weeks episode of the Get Clarity Podcast is actually one which I have just released on my other show – The Thriving Coaches Podcast and it features a coaching session I did during the 2017 Clarity Coach training with a very successful coach called Pam Featherstone.

Pam took her coaching business from zero to 1 million in under 3 years and became Action Coaches no.1 global coach of the year. In fact, she was the first ever UK coach to achieve the global award (previously it had been won by coaches from the USA and Australia).

Now Pam currently gives 80% of all her earnings to charity and has delivered 12000 coaching hours over the course of 5 years but she came on the Clarity Coach training programme to increase her impact with clients even more and to experience her own personal transformations.

In this session you’re going to hear me working with Pam on caring for her own health and wellbeing. This is something I see with a lot of coaches and therapists and transformation professionals – they’re brilliant at support other people but sometimes need a little help taking care of themselves.

By the way the certified Clarity Coach Training programme is formally open for registration and it’s not just for coaches, we’ve had all sorts of people go through the programme including doctors, call centre workers, layers, parents PR specialist, therapists, office workers, entrepreneurs, surgeons, people who are already coaches and consultants and trainers (people like Pam) and even a professional footballer and if you’re interested it’s worth knowing that we’re not running the programme next year so the intake that’s starting this September (2018) is the last chance  you’re going to get to join us until 2020 at the very earliest.

In this episode you're going to hear an excerpt from the most recent Clarity Coach Training programme where several students were in situations where they wanted to share the principles behind Clarity with an audience, but they didn't understand how it was practical (or even possible) to do so. The subjects they were due to be talking about were “gut health”, “business strategy” and “exam results”.

The principles behind clarity are present in every human experience so, as you'll hear, it turns out to be quite a bit simpler than you might expect.

By the way, the certified Clarity Coach Training programme is going to be formally opening for registration in the next couple of weeks, so If you'd like to find out more about the programme and see what's involved in becoming a Clarity Coach go to JamieSMart.com/coach

We've had people from all walks of life go through the programme including computer programmers, doctors, call centre workers, lawyers, parents, PR specialists, therapists, office workers, entrepreneurs, surgeons, people who are already coaches, consultants, trainers and even a professional footballer.

If you want to find out how to become a Clarity Coach, and see what's involved in bringing an understanding of these principles into every aspect of your life, go to http://www.jamiesmart.com/coach

In this episode I speak with Charles Faulkner (a man whose work has had a big influence on the way I think about language, metaphor and money). A trainer and a master modeller, Charles was featured in the book The New Market Wizards and other books for his pioneering work modelling the best market traders - so-called Market Wizards.

Charles also led the way introducing Cognitive Linguistics as the basis of new metaphoric change processes. As a Visiting Senior Fellow to the University of Surrey School of Management he has been instrumental in getting research in the UK started in NLP.

His 2017 TED Talk introduces his newer thinking on the nature of our imagination.

This weeks episode is a recording of a talk I gave at the 2017 3PGC conference and the subject is 'The Future of Employment'.

This is something I go into depth with in my book - The Little Book of Results. For more info about the LBOR and to download free chapters you can visit https://www.jamiesmart.com/getresults

Realising Resilience is a brief (20 minutes) recording I created to help you tap into your innate capacity for resilience; a capacity that exists within every human being. This may be one of those recordings you decide to listen to over and over again, because it will help point you in the direction of your innate resources.

This is a keynote that I did for Regents Business School and it requires a little bit of introduction because this was the very last thing the students attended before the end of their term and so (as you can imagine) the students were very excited and there was a lot of different stuff going on (Eg. side conversations, people texting each other and on phones), it was a lot of what we would call distraction (we're talking about students between 19 and 22 years old) and it's the last day of school so (as you'll hear when you listen to the recording) part of what I'm doing is the conveying of information but a big part of what I'm doing is engaging the students, getting their attention and bringing them together as a group so that I can help them have an experience of what I'm pointing to.

So I'm busting out everything that occurs to me in the moment to get people's attention, get them to focus, bring them into the present etc.

The vibe and style of the talk may be a little bit different to some of the things you've heard from me in the past but I thought you might find it interesting to see what it’s like because my basic idea when I'm talking to any group is how can I make it easy for them to look in the direction I'm pointing and step one with that is always to get their attention and meet them where they are then lead them in the direction I'm heading.

You can make up your own mind about how well that worked and maybe make your own guesses about at what point in the talk we started to drop into that deeper space together.

By the way, if you'd like to book me to do a keynote for your organisation or your event just send an email to dawn@jamiesmart.com with 'keynote' in the
subject line.

Chip Chipman is a dear friend, colleague and one of the people who's had a massive impact in my own life, and in the lives of many of my clients. Chip and his wife Jan join me each year to deliver the Clarity Life Transformation Retreat.

I conducted this interview with him in 2010 as an exclusive recording for a group of my one-year clients, but I've decided to release it to listeners of this podcast because it's made such a difference for so many people. Chip Chipman is one of the most experienced teachers of the inside-out understanding of the principles discovered and taught by Sydney Banks. His work ranges from corporate consulting through to pioneering work with inmates in jails.

You can find out more about the Clarity Life Transformation Retreat at http://www.jamiesmart.com/Clarity-Retreat/

In this episode of the results mind set podcast we are doing something a little bit different. What you will hear is the recording of a 1-1 coaching session I did with one of my clients Tanya Alexander for my other podcast (The Profitable Coaches Podcast).

The reason I’m releasing this episode here is because of what I was coaching Tanya around. Tanya is doing a programme of mine called ‘Escape Velocity – The Transition Blueprint’ and during that programme people get 1-1 coaching in a group context.

When Tanya came on for her coaching session she wanted to get coaching around a number of fears – agoraphobia, claustrophobia, fear of flying and generalised anxiety, and so the reason I thought that would be such a great topic for this podcast is because the solution with those is the same as it is for ALL our fears, worries and anxieties.

If you are a coach, therapist or trainer and you want to listen to more of these coaching sessions OR if you are just interested in hearing more of this kind of stuff you can subscribe to the Profitable Coaches Podcast by heading over to http://www.jamiesmart.com/pcp

Louise Storey has a background in the software industry but has recently transitioned to doing something she really loves; hosting people and helping create beautiful experiences for them. As well as being a part-time coach and running a guest-house, Louise is the mother of two young children… and one of the interesting things about her is that her son Jack is autistic, so she’s got a unique and enlightening perspective on the challenges that so many people face. As you'll hear, her realisations go far beyond autism, and are relevant to all parenting and all relationships.

This episode is an interview I did with Mahima Shrestha during a module of the Clarity Coach Training Programme. The previous day, one of the students had asked, "This stuff is all well and good, but how do these principles work in the case of 'real stuff'". Mahima was able to give a personal account of exactly that, as she had a huge insight when she was caught in the 2015 Nepal earthquake. Mahima is a crisis management consultant who’s passionate about bringing people together, finding solutions to complex problems and facilitating long-term change in culture and communities. And one of the interesting things about Mahima is that she’s got a background in journalism and PR.

This episode of the Results Mindset Podcast is something a little bit different. It’s a case study with Emily Best. Emily is a trainer who has recently transitioned from a role working in the National Health Service to doing work she loves. And as you’ll hear when you listen to this case study interview, the transformations Emily’s been through over the past few months stretch far beyond the workplace.
